Join the party
At restaurant LULA, the interior design, service and food are all about creating the right relaxed atmosphere for guests.
With a front row seat to Aarhus Marina, restaurant LULA has a fantastic location and invites you to enjoy a holiday atmosphere and drinks on the terrace during summer nights. Inside, the laid-back style continues with a colourful and informal decor. Windows along the terrace offer views of the marina and the Risskov forest behind it. The chairs are yellow or turquoise blue in a lovely retro look with soft velvet.
On the gable above the windows is a hand-painted multi-limbed squid, which both emphasises the Mediterranean inspiration and illustrates a “LULA” in Portuguese. Lula, or squid, can also be found on the restaurant’s menu, which invites you to social dining with up to nine dishes. All dishes have Southern European cuisine as their reference point.
Ceiling in new colour
Just as the bright colours of the chairs provide contrast in the room, another nice contrast is achieved by combining large rice paper lamps with a black ceiling behind them. It is the original Troldtekt ceilings that have ensured good acoustics for the many parties and dinners this venue has hosted. The place is known in Aarhus as the old sailing clubhouse, even though more than 20 years has passed.
Reusing the original acoustic ceilings and even painting them, as in Restaurant Lula, makes sense in terms of protecting our environment from unnecessary resource consumption. The Troldtekt ceilings create a dark sky over the lively atmosphere that the venue is famous for, and with the sound absorption comes acoustics that ensure that you can hear each other around the table.
